Mane Slammed For Disrespecting Jurgen Klopp

Scotland icon Graeme Souness has slammed Sadio Mane for disrespecting Jurgen Klopp in Liverpool’s 4-2 victory at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Mane refused to shake the hands of Klopp right after the game and Souness has labeled that ‘an act of disrespect’ to the Reds.

The Senegal international is enduring a torrid season at Anfield, having scored only 14 goals in all competitions for Klopp’s side.

Diogo Jota was given a starting berth at the expense of Mane against the Red Devils, and the Portugal international vindicated Klopp’s decision by scoring a crucial goal as Liverpool beat United to keep their top four hopes alive.

Mane was introduced later in the game to replace the former Wolverhampton Wanderers man, but the Senegalese seemed not to be happy with the decision and showed his frustration when Klopp came to give him a handshake after the game.

“It’s disrespectful. It’s never happened to me but if I were the manager, I would not be happy,” Souness told Sky Sports. “I think he should have shaken his hand, he didn’t want to cuddle, but you should show a bit of respect. It’s most importantly disrespectful to the football club.

“Yeah, he’s not happy at being left out, but can he really argue? He’s not had a great season, how can he argue with the fact he’s been a sub and Liverpool have won 4-2 at Old Trafford which is not a happy hunting ground for them.”
